That = BIG MONEY. Especially the 2.5P4B

Anywho. Pricewatch has all the cheapest listings.

http://www.newegg.com is a great site as well. Awesome RMA dealings and they have everything cheap.

OEM video cards are mega sucky generic ones. You have to buy brand name or else you just get the chip on a piece of shit board. Believe me, the chip on a generic board does not make up for the price difference, a Visiontek GF3 Ti200 could beat that card and for the same price.

Okay. Do not skimp on the video card. Do not skimp on the motherboard. Do not skimp on the power supply.

If you're starting off with no legacy crap get an Abit IT7. They're pretty good boards. And if you are planning on doing any overclocking make sure the board has a pci/agp lock.

Also if you're going to buy a 533fsb p4 you might want to look into rdram. It's much more expensive, but it'll provide the memory bandwidth that the new p4 loves and needs. Either pc1066 rdram or pc3000 ddr for the best performance.

rdram has better performance, but it has a price premium.

You'll also want a good brand name power supply. The last thing you want is a psu with flaky rails that are more than ±0.3 off. That'll really hurt your overclocking ability otherwise.

You probably don't need RAID. But if you do make sure you get two drives of the same capacity and brand name. The total RAID storage of two drives is 2x the smallest drive.

Um...Make sure you get a good NIC. Intel and 3com are good. Most onboard ethernet isn't bad, but isn't the greatest.

Onboard sound isn't too great either. It's fine for windows stuff, but if you want good sound on mp3s and in games then I'd suggest a hercules, santa cruz...or an audigy.

Watch out for OEM drives. If you do get OEM then you'll need to buy the cabling seperately unless it came with your motherboard.

For RAM I'd suggest corsair XMS or REAL samsung 2700. Seems to have a lot of good reviews. Wouldn't know about rdram. Can't afford it =/

If you have the money, get a good case like a Lian-Li.

Good cooling is important as well.

I was gonna build a PC last year, but then I got smart. You'll get over your foolest desire, don't worry.

See, the urge to build a PC is hella stupid, and I realized that. That's why I didn't build it.
